Leadership is a Choice – 4 Steps to Clear the Battlefield of the Mind

Have you ever wondered what the biggest challenge the leadership of all this? This challenge is the decision. This election is a challenge of the mind. As a consumer, you are overwhelmed by the choice. Have you tried to buy a new television, lately? More than thirteen produced with more than seven screen sizes to choose from. On top of all that you need to decide between plasma, LCD or projection.

Like most consumers, you are immediately aware of the choices available. You probably go to theInternet and start a little bit about the picture quality and price do. Next to iron, how much TV you get, and how much you spend. Subsequently, the shop determined that the model will lead to that price. Last, you get in your car, drive to the store and make your purchase.

Leadership is no different. It begins with the first election, whether he be a leader. Your title or position does not make you a leader, it is your personal decision. If you take this decision, You must assess the environment. These include your skills and abilities, both physically and mentally. You also need to assess the opportunities in your workplace. Within the area there will be a series of directions and you begin to lead themselves and others. You need to determine a priority and a course of action. Once you've done this, then you must act!

One of the students in my mentor program came to me with this challenge of the election. It is not in aKeep> leadership, nor has a leading titles in their organization. You new in her heart that she had more to give, but was not quite sure how to do it. I told her she had already taken the first step.

She and I spent the next six weeks clearing the battlefield of their minds. In those six weeks she was in a position to five areas of opportunity where they could step into a leadership role. It assesses and identifies five areas that wouldhave the greatest impact on the organization. She developed an action plan. She went to her supervisor, presented the plan and was asked to lead the initiative. She was so excited when they say than she was in charge of the project.

These are the four steps clearly, your battlefield:

Understand you have a choice
Evaluate Your Environment
Determine the priorities and possibilities for action
Take action

Above all other things in life, you have choice. One year, fiveMay take years or 10 years. Will take time. It's what you do with your time is what it is. You can choose to vacate the battlefield or step on the mines.
