How many steps it takes to find you and open your Word documents? Try these tricks to streamline how you find and open the files you use most often:
Open Documents
With a multitude of decisions not to open such a file? Here are the standards, and several keyboard shortcuts:
File> Open
Open toolbar button (usually 2nd from left on the Standard toolbar)
[Ctrl] + O
[Ctrl] + F12
[Ctrl] + [Alt] + F2
Select more than one file
Once the dialog box open, you choose to open more than one file:
To select nonadjacent files in the Open dialog box, click on a file and then hold down the [Ctrl] key and click each additional file.
To select only the files in the Open dialogBox, click the first file in the order, and then] while pressing [Shift and click the last file.

Click once on the File menu and a list of the last 4 of recently used files shown at the bottom. Save time opening up your most recent work by increasing the list to a maximum of 9 files:
